Nayana Keshava Bhat

Nayana Keshava Bhat born in 1985, India, is a multidisciplinary artist, working as a choreographer, curator, producer, and teacher.
Based in Salzburg since 2012, Nayana founded “INFLUX – Network for Dance, Theatre and Performance” in 2017 to sustain her engagement with artistic work. Over the last 17 years of her career as a performing artist, Nayana has steadily moved towards an interdisciplinary practice, combining her interests and experience in dance, choreography & improvisation, clowning, and writing. Her works as a performer and choreographer have been presented in festivals across Asia and Europe, supported by various institutions in Asia and Europe.
Some of her notable works are “A Duet. Ein Solo.”, “Room of Inevitable End”, “Salzburg Improvisation Evenings”, "Sea/Mehr“, "Boring Motherhood Solo", “These.Three.Words”, “CAGE”, “Manifesto”, to name a few. She has collaborated with dancers, musicians, visual and performing artists from various disciplines, namely, Katie Duck, Marinella Senatore, Michikazu Matsune, Tomaz Simatovic, Chris Dahlgren, Dorit Ehlers, Jordina Millà, Almut Kühne, amongst others.
Nayana was awarded the Annual Fellowship Prize by Land Salzburg in 2022 for her research project “Manifesto” and the development of various formats for improvisation practices in Salzburg city.
Nayana has her roots in Bharatanatyam, and graduated from SEAD with a post-graduation in choreography. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and has worked and written for several magazines and publications in India and Austria.
